ALANNA GONZALEZ - UBACH has amassed a wealth of experience in the areas of film, television and theater. Alanna is a Latina actress, born in San Juan and raised in Downey, California. She has been described as "an actress to keep your eye on" by the NY Times and "one to watch," by USA Today. Ms. Ubach has been called a “Chameleon actress, who you might not recognize from one role to the next!” Recent film credits include co-starring with Ryan Reynolds in the Lion’s Gate comedy, WAITING, as Naomi, the extraordinarily angry waitress. She also appeared in the smash hit MEET THE FOCKERS as Isabel, Ben Stiller’s first love. For this role she transformed herself into a buxom older housekeeper and Alanna steals every scene that she is in. .. In 2004, Alanna reprised her role as Serena, best friend and sorority sister to Reese Witherspoon in LEGALLY BLONDE II. Alanna has directed and written two short films, MI AMOR MI DULCE, which premiered, premiered at LA’s OUTFEST , and has screened in film fests from Honolulu to Italy, and the recently completed puppet short THE FART SHOW (www.fartshow.com). She has also debuted her 3 man comedy troupe, Velcro (www.velcrotroupe.com) , with a series of short film spoofs on Hollywood celebrities.
UBACH has made her mark in the cartoon world, and her voice can be heard regularly on the Disney, WB and Nickelodeon animated series, TEAMO SUPREMO, OZZIE AND DRIX, BRANDY AND MR. WHISKERS, HIGGLEYTOWN HEROES, and the lead voice of Manny Rivera in Disney’s new and acclaimed Mexican superhero series EL TIGRE . UBACH has also been seen on the big screen in BLUE MOON in which she starred with film veterans Rita Morena and Ben Garraza. in which she starred with film veterans Rita Moreno and Ben Gazarra and the title role in DENISE CALLS UP, (a sequel is in development) which won a special mention at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. She played the ringleader in a women's juvenile prison alongside Reese Witherspoon in Matthew Bright's darkly comic debut film FREEWAY, a temp looking for something better in CLOCKWATCHERS alongside Lisa Kudrow and Parker Posey, and the only female lead alongside David Arquette and Lukas Haas in Scott Silver's JOHNS, all of which played at Sundance. She also co-starred with Vince Vaughn in JUST YOUR LUCK and opposite Jeremy Piven and Edie Falco in LAYIN’ LOW. In PINK AS THE DAY SHE WAS BORN. Ubach starred as a young rock and roll singer who works in a domination parlor to support herself. . Other film roles include SISTER ACT II, AIRBORNE, Danny Devito's daughter in RENNAISANCE MAN, and Marsha’s best lesbian girlfriend in Betty’ Thomas’ BRADY BUNCH MOVIE.
Ubach has also done extensive television and theater work. On television she created the role of "Josie" on the Cable Ace Award winning educational children's science series BEAKMAN’S WORLD. Some of her many guest-starring roles include a Hollywood producer under investigation in THE CLOSER, a murderous Wal-Mart employee in MONK a ballistics expert on CSI NY, a petulant intern on WEST WING, a homeless teen on ER, a reformed crack addict on TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL , and an ambitious publicist on Aaron Sorkin’s SPORTS NIGHT. She has also starred in several television movies including A & E’s KARROLL’S CHRISTMAS starring opposite Tom Everett Scott and VH-1’s 30 DAYS UNTIL I’M FAMOUS as a Britney Spears wannabe. Ms. Ubach has also been cast as a series regular in 10 TV Pilots. Her improv work as been seen on shows such as THE DAVID SPADE SHOW and THE ADAM CAROLLA SHOW.. On the New York stage Alanna, who was described by Village Voice as "a marvelously affecting and unaffected young actress," received critical acclaim for her performance in KINDERTRANSPORT at the Manhattan Theatre Club and CLUB SODA at the WPA Theater. She has starred in the Chicago production of Eve Ensler's THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES. . Last year at LA’s STAGES THEATRE and THE HUDSON THEATRE, she did her critically acclaimed one woman show, PATRIOTIC BITCH, which will have its New York debut in the autumn of 2007
